Laboratory experiments and demonstrations are an integral part of good science education, but working with hazardous chemicals means a lot of inherent risks. This is a training for the Chemical Hygiene Officers (CHO), who lead and administer laboratory safety programs at schools, and will provide an overview of the legal requirements as well as the general roles, responsibilities and duties of CHOs. The information from the training and the associated supporting document can be customized to school districts’ specific needs and supports them in building a well managed laboratory safety program.
