A data-driven program for custodial cleaning is useful to set proper expectations and work loading, contributes to reducing injuries, and assures that protocols set by the national Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Washington State Health Department (WA DOH) are followed. The goal of the program is to create realistic expectations for custodians and establish accountability for the whole team while reducing accidents and injuries, and maintaining clean and inviting spaces in schools. Our presenter is an experienced custodian and now leader in this field, who became inspired to develop this program based on personal experience and their own injuries that resulted from over-work loading. The training is geared towards anyone who supervises custodians, including principals in some school districts.
