COVID-19 Training Requirements for Employees

Training employees about coronavirus and how to prevent transmission is one of the key prevention elements that DOSH has identified in their recent coronavirus prevention directive.  Required training is addressed in DOSH Directive 1.70 “General Coronavirus Prevention Under Stay Safe – Stay Healthy Order Updated: July 7, 2021” which states “Employers are required to train employees regarding the hazards and symptoms of COVID-19, how to protect themselves, and the COVID-19 expectations in the workplace”. 

In order to help our districts meet this training requirement, we are recommending the following training on the Vector Solutions (SafeSchools) training platform:

  • Coronavirus 101 – What You Need to Know (15 min). This interactive online course features critical information about how COVID-19 spreads, how to recognize its symptoms, how to prevent and treat the virus, and what to do if you become sick with the virus.
  • Coronavirus 106 – DIY Cloth Face Coverings (11 min).  This interactive online course cover the new guidelines for the use of cloth face coverings to help slow the spread of coronavirus and best practices for wearing cloth face coverings and includes tutorials for sew and no sew methods for creating face coverings as recommended by the CDC.
  • Coronavirus 109 – What You Should Know about Variants (7 min). This interactive online course will teach you about the characteristics of variants, including the Delta variant. You will also learn about the current variants prevalent in the world today.
