“K-12 COVID-19 Requirements for Summer 2021 and the 2021-2022 School Year” dated May 13, 2021

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) recognizes the need for advance planning
even as the science of COVID-19 evolves. The trajectory of disease prevalence in our state and
nation may require changes in our state’s response efforts, and DOH will periodically update
this guidance to reflect currently accepted safety guidance. It is likely this document will be
updated over the summer prior to the start of the school year. Further, we will continue to
work with the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to ensure districts,
schools, and families have timely access to updated K-12 School 2021-2022 Guidance.
